It's my first time...

Congratulations on taking the first step. Even if it is your tenth, or hundredth class, stepping gonto the mat for your own wellbeing is always worth celebrating!

Every session will be different, because you don't always feel the same every single day! Come with an open and curious mind. I was surprised at how much I learned about myself after resting in stillness, and the practice continues to surprise me every single time.

Things to bring:

Restorative yoga:

  • Yoga mat

  • Yoga blocks (optional)

  • 2 face towels (optional)

  • 2 bath towels (optional)

What should I wear?

Loose fitting clothing that you can easily stretch and move around in. We may do some simple stretches before the actual main course.

What will happen in class?

Every class will be slightly different, but it follows a very simple structure: We start with some breathwork and grounding to settle you down, then I will invite you to come to any restful position. There might also be some gentle stretches incorporated. You will be guided throughout the session.

Any contraindications?

My classes are generally safe for practitioners of all levels. I'll be grateful if you can inform me if you are:

  • Pregnant, or have recently given birth

  • Working with any medical conditions

  • Working with any mental health conditions

 

These sessions do have an impact on our physical and psycho-emotional states. It will be helpful for me to know about any potential triggers so that I am able to guide you more effectively.

Are your sessions linked to any religious practices?

I keep my facilitation work secular. It is not affiliated with any religion or spiritual practices.

My gong training draws references from elements of traditional Hatha yoga and Kundalini yoga practices. My restorative yoga and meditation trainings has loose links to from Buddhist meditation techniques. I identify as Christian. You may notice some personal religious and spiritual artefacts within my home studio. My religion is a strictly personal practice, and I will not share it with my clients.
